8, 10, 12, and 3
Wow, the Baker kids are growing! The boys just had birthdays in February and March. We had a Muppet Show birthday for Levi in February and a Bowling Birthday for Caleb in March. So, now we are all even numbers except for Levi. :) So enjoy a few pictures from these events.

Day in the shoes of Micah!
Hi everyone! As you can tell, we need a new post so i'll put you in my shoes for one day. Starting with waking up this morning. So I woke up at nine fifteen today(Baker Christian Academy doesn't have school on Fridays), and go downstairs to find my two cousins running around with everyone else. Levi is on Mom and Dads bed with a little fever and doesn't want anything to do with anyone. I had slept through breakfast so I made a piece of toast. Then, being the great sister I am, help Lydia make a breakfast casserole for lunch(weird). Then I go practice piano and play with Nolan until I hear Levi crying. I go in and Levi says " I gotta go to the bafroom!" So I pick up the sickey pants and take him into the "Bafroom" but, before I get there I smell the sweet aroma of pee pee and feel it too! And sure enough, there was a pool of pee on the bed. Lucky me! Next, the whole family snuggles on the couches in the living room to watch "Miss Spider", how exciting! We all eat lunch after waking ourselves from the long lounge on the couch. Then Delaney, Lydia, Caleb and I have a tea party with chocolate chip cookies and water, never mind, it was a water party! And now (obviously) I'm on the computer in my P.J.s still! So pretty much its been a really productive day at the Baker house! Later, Micah

A typical school day for the Bakers
Before I became a homeschooler, I always was very curious and often skeptical of the whole process. So, I would like to share with you all what a typical day for the Baker's looks like.
9:30-12:30 During the morning hours we all have different tasks. Micah, Lydia, and Caleb go down to our school room to do Math, Science, English, Word Building, and they have to practice piano at some point during those subjects. They each have their own assignment and I am available as they need help. Levi during this time is typically taking a bath, listening to a CD, playing, and most days gets to watching one kid show. I clean up breakfast, monitor Levi, check in with the kids in the basement to help as needed, do History with Caleb, grade tests and workout.
12:30-2:00 We eat lunch, clean up lunch, and play during this time. If we have errands, they happen here.
2:00 We lay Levi down for his nap. The rest of us have what we call "re-group" time. We each go to our rooms and do our devotional time and have just quiet time doing our own thing silently. The rule is no talking and stay on your bed.
2:30 Micah, Lydia, Caleb, and myself head down to the school room for Bible. After Bible, the girls and I do their History. Caleb either does a round of Wii fitness or does his keyboarding lesson.
3:15ish This is my personal favorite time of the day. We all get a snack (just the big kids and me) and sit down in the living room and read our chapter book together. It is fun, relaxing, and I always have a cup of coffee while reading. It is lovely.
3:45ish Chore time!
That is it! Not everyday looks exacly the same, but pretty close to this. On Monday mornings, they have piano lessons with Trent during their morning school and I do grocery shopping with Levi on this morning. On Tuesdays, we have health right after lunch for about 20 minutes. And on Wednesdays, we attend a gym class at the YMCA at 1:00. We only do school Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Our curriculum is a 4 day curriculum. We are all off on Friday including Trent.
School at home-it is crazy, but I love it!

Half way party!
Last Thursday we were exactly half-way through our school year. Soooo, Lydia and Caleb (our school president and vice-president) planned a party for us. We were served for supper HALF a stomboli, HALF a glass of pop, and a FULL salad (Mom's requirement). Then we played games...

Pin the paper on the notebook
A relay
Pencils (the card game Spoons normally, but we used pencils)
A race creating a paper chain of 72 (the days remaining of School)
All planned by Lydia and Caleb. A special thanks to Micah who relinquished some of her oldest rights by allowing the other two to serve as officers. :)
It was a blast. The final treat was cookies cut in HALF! We like themes at the Baker House!

Baker Tattoo Parlor!
This is how I entertained the kids after a long day. Trent was at a meeting, it was freezing out, and we were stuck in the house for too long. So, we opened Baker Tattoo Parlor-great fun! Caleb and Levi still have their tattoos on as they did not bathe until the next day.

And here are a few of the final products!

Christmas!
Hi, everybody! Hope you all had a great Christmas! We sure did! It was so much fun just hanging out with all the family!
We went sleding, watched movies, ate food and a whole lot more. Christmas morning was great! Does everyone like my new hat and coat? Grandpa's party went super too! He loved all the cards and e-mails! And we had great trips there and back. The snow and ice was really bad! Mom missed Grandpa and Grandma's house once, cause they live on the bottom of a hill. Uncle Troy's car sliped down the driveway when evryone was inside! But it cleared just in time for our trip home. LOL Micah
